Lots of Promotions!

I've stated before, but I don't mind saying it again: I love it when folks get promoted!  I always feel like I've played a small part in the progression of the promotee and it gives me a great sense of satisfaction to see the fruit of their labor.  Professor Paul has seen fit to promote several folks as of late, so without further ado...

Brett Gheesling- MMA Blue Belt- Brett has been training with us for quite some time now and has even stepped in the ring.  We all know that his BJJ is top level and has brutal arm triangle attacks, but his MMA progression is increasing and Professor has seen fit to recognize his skills.  Congrats!

Alex Irwin-BJJ Blue Belt-Alex came to us from another academy as an already advanced white belt.  Having an excellent base of knowledge and a great work ethic, it didn't take too long for him to get the skills of a Creighton blue belt.

Reed Rosser-BJJ Blue Belt-Reed is one of the young ones that has had the benefit of starting to train as a teenager.  For a while, he was caught in limbo between the junior ranks and the adult ranks but no longer.  Progressing rapidly as of late, his skill is such that he has been awarded an adult rank and it is well deserved.

Shane Nifong-BJJ Blue Belt-Shane is one of those guys that just goes.  There is no quit in him and it seems his gas tank is always full.  He has increasingly been adding skill to his arsenal and has been awarded a new belt for his efforts.  Great job!

Pooh Bear Eberle-BJJ Purple Belt-This promotion is especially near and dear to my heart.  When Pooh Bear first walked into the academy, I never thought he'd be around this long but the kid kept coming and improving.  Eventually he became the kids instuctor and stepped into the ring a few times, proving that he is a picture of perserverence.  He is always at the academy and always training to improve.  I was blessed enough to be rolling with him when Professor surprised him with the belt and I'm 99% sure I saw tears in his eyes.  I'd love to make fun of him, but I felt the same way so I won't throw stones from my glass house.  Congrats, Pooh Bear, well earned and well deserved!

I used to post this link when we had promotions but the site I initially had it on was taken down.  I found it again a few weeks ago on a different page and it is so appropriate to post it again.  Progression in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
