The Terror and More
If you haven't noticed, we have had a number of law enforcement type folks pass through our doors. The latest to do so has been Officer Mike Hughes. Mike came to us after a rough tour of duty in Hawaii before finally making it back to Georgia. Having trained in other martial arts, he was fairly new to grappling when he started with us. After a year of consistent hard work, Professor Paul rewarded him with his blue belt! Great job, Mike!
Saturday night a lot of us gathered at Twisted Tavern in Suwanee to watch the UFC. I had talked to Frank Mullis earlier that day and (as always!) he was convinced that Matt Serra was going to show us something special. I think most everyone expected some groundwork in this fight, but Matt didn't need his BJJ. Showing the same striking power that he showed vs. GSP, Matty earned KO of the night honors in round one! A night a good fights that we all enjoyed. I've got the full results here.
